I'm Robert Hall

I'm a Christian, a husband, a father of 2 boys, a combat veteran, and a former software executive. In 2018 my fiancé and I were going through a pre-marital workbook where we were asked to create a mission statement for our life. I wrote:
"My mission in this life is to teach, grow, and restore those who have experienced brokenness through counsel and writing."

My Dad Code is a fruit  from this tree.

My Story

I believe every father's journey starts with the story of their own dad, or in my case dad(s). One who made it clear on the day of my birth that he would never be involved, and another who raised me as his with all of his own limitations and love.

My time in Army Special Operations, later as a software executive, and person of faith, solidified my belief in the importance of living life by a certain code. The wounds from my own fathering journey ignited a deep intentionality in how I approached raising my two boys and I ended up creating my own personal  code in which I would father them by.

Why I Do It

Unfortunately, I went through a challenging divorce when my boys were young. It was during this dark and shattering time that I became acutely aware of the need to maintain presence, influence, and a long-term positive impact in their lives even when it seemed everything was stacked against me and was seemingly losing everything.

My Resolution

Now, with my boys in high school, our story is still unfolding—a journey in fatherhood that is both challenging and immensely rewarding. Through my experiences, I've discovered the power of intentionality and resilience in shaping the narrative of parenthood and it is on my heart to share what I have learned. There are so many men, young and old, who know they are meant for more but are up against powerful systems and patterns. I want to offer new perspectives in approaching fatherhood and help others have a chance at healing and renewed purpose.

Thank you for visiting My Dad Code!
